RESTORING HOPE AND HEALING TO THE HURTING THROUGH CHRISTIAN COUNSELING

OUR PASTORAL COUNSELORS

Amanda Richard

Amanda grew up in Southwest Louisiana and became a Christian at the age of 7. She met her husband in college and after they were married, served in the military together. After moving around the country, they settled in Central Texas when they decided to sell their dream home, buy an RV and travel around the US with their 3 children and 2 dogs. When they got to Maine, the Lord said stay, so they did. They fell in love with the landscape and the people.

Amanda has a heart to help and heal others and find out who they are in Christ. She is a National Christian Counselors Association Licensed Temperament Counselor and Co-Founder of R&R Restoration Ministries.

Logan Rogers

Logan grew up in Southwest Louisiana and became a Christian after going to a revival at the age of 12. After moving to the Austin, Texas he decided to answer the call the Lord placed on his life for ministry and pursued becoming a Licensed Christian Counselor through the National Christian Counselors Association (NCCA).

He always joked with his sister that one day they were going to go into business together or work together in some way. That dream was put into action when he relocated to Maine and completed his certification, so that he and Amanda could begin working together. R&R Restoration Ministry was established, and he is excited to see what the Lord has in store for their ministry, Southern Maine and beyond!

What We Believe

At R&R Restoration Ministry, we believe in the One God who is eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. He is the creator of all things (Genesis 1:1; Mark 12:29; Matthew 3: 16, 17). He has spoken to us in the Bible. We receive the sixty-six books of the Old and New Testaments as our final authority, the only infallible rule of faith and practice, accepting it as the Word of God (2 Timothy 1:13; 2 Peter 1:20, 21).

Our sinful rebellion against God had separated us from Him (Romans 3:10), so God became a man in order to restore us to intimate friendship with Him through the Person of Jesus Christ. He entered the world as a baby, conceived by a virgin, fully man, yet fully God (Luke 1:30, 31). He lived a sinless life, then offered Himself on the cross, dying as our substitute so that through the sacrifice of His blood, we might be set free from the just penalty of our sin and made right with God. In accepting Christ, we experience a new spiritual birth (Romans 6:23; Ephesians 1: 7, 8, 2:8, 9). After His death He was buried, and on the third day rose again (Luke 24: 4-6; Mark 16:5, 6; Matthew 28:5, 6) and ascended to heaven where He is seated at the right hand of God the Father (Mark 16:19), interceding for us (Isaiah 9:6; John 1: 1, 14, 20:28; Philippians 2: 5, 6; I Timothy 2:5, 3:16). Through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross, he made the way for us to receive healing for our mind, body, and emotions (Matthew 9: 6, 7, 10:1; Luke 9:1, 2). We continue to pray in faith, believing that it is God's desire for his children to be whole (Matthew 8: 7, 8, 13).

According to Genesis 1 and 2, God created man and woman (Genesis 1: 26, 27 and 2: 21-24) and established the covenant of marriage (Genesis 2: 21-25). We believe that biblical marriage is between one man and one woman as biologically designed by God at their birth (Ephesians 5:31, 32). Anything other than the biblical account of marriage is sinful and therefore not ordained by God. R&R Restoration Ministry will offer counseling to same-sex couples, however, the individual counselor and the ministry will adhere to the biblical view of marriage.

We believe that God poured out the Holy Spirit on the Day of Pentecost in power giving birth to His new community, the Church (Acts 2: 42), baptizing believers into the Body of Christ and releasing the gifts of the Spirit to them (Acts 2:1, 2; 2:38). In the Person of the Holy Spirit, Christ lives within His people, reproducing His holy character within us, empowering us to be His witnesses to the world (Luke 24: 45-49; Mark 16: 15-18), and equipping us with spiritual gifts to do the works of the Kingdom of God (I Corinthians 12:4-11). We believe that Christ will literally and bodily return to earth to claim His Bride (Matthew 24:30-31), the one, true and universal church, and take her to Heaven to live and reign with Him throughout eternity (Matthew 25:31-46).
We believe that we must respond to this great love that God has lavished on mankind by turning away from our sins, placing our faith fully in Jesus Christ (Acts 2:38). By submitting to His authority in our lives we allow Him to change us more and more into the image of Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17; Acts 3:19; I John 1:9). We experience a profound inner transformation called new birth, and we receive the gift of eternal life (John 3:16; John 3:3-7). Those who refuse this great love are in danger of eternal judgment in a literal hell (Romans 6:23).
